Technology

The latest in laser technology

The laser used at SISI Clinic is top of the range, and the most current in laser hair removal technology. The laser targets specific areas of the body, delivering a laser directly into the hair follicle structure. This effectively damaging the hair follicle to help prevent hair regrowth.

Whilst target the hair follicle, the laser also has an attached crystal to cool the skin. This ensures that there is no damage to the surrounding skin, and the cooling helps to reduce any pain from the treatment.

FAQ

Frequently asking questions:

Who shouldn’t get laser?

Individuals with active infections, open wounds, or certain skin conditions should avoid laser treatments for safety and effectiveness.

How often can I have treatment?

Laser sessions are usually scheduled every 4–6 weeks, depending on the treatment area, hair growth cycle, and skin response

Will laser work on fair hair?

Laser is less effective on light, blonde, grey, or red hair due to low melanin, which is essential for targeting follicles.

How many sessions do I need?

Most people require 6 to 8 sessions for noticeable results, though individual needs vary based on skin type and hair density.

Can I have treatment on my period?

Yes, treatment is safe during your period, but wear a tampon if treating the bikini area to ensure hygiene and comfort.

Can I have laser while pregnant?

Laser hair removal isn’t recommended during pregnancy due to insufficient research on its safety for developing fetuses and hormonal changes.

How does laser work?

Laser emits focused light absorbed by hair pigment, which heats and damages the follicle, slowing regrowth without harming surrounding skin.

Can you treat all skin types?

Yes, modern lasers like Nd:YAG can safely treat all skin tones when operated by trained professionals using appropriate settings and care.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

It offers long-lasting reduction, though hormonal changes or genetics may require occasional maintenance sessions to maintain smooth skin results.

How quickly will I see results?

You’ll notice some reduction after one session, with full results typically visible after several consistent treatments over a few months.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

You may feel mild stinging, like a rubber band snap; numbing cream or cooling systems help minimize discomfort during treatment.
